Puppet Fab Lab is the research space of Michael Smith, programme leader of BA(hons) Animation of at Leeds College of Art. After years of working with digital technologies he has decided to take a step back from computer based technology and look at the craft of puppet making for animation.
The intention is to explore old and new approaches to puppet making, design develop and realise his own puppets and present the work of leading luminaries in the puppet making world, sharing his experiences and the practice of others.
